As part of our commitment to innovation, OLIOMATIC has developed its own laser welding system for hydraulic cylinders, original worldwide, applied to the manufacturing of high-performance laser-welded cylinders.
Laser welding of hydraulic cylinders (LASER-BEAM WELDING”, LBW) uses a highly concentrated laser beam that enables precise fusion of materials, minimising the heat-affected zone. Through deep penetration mode or keyhole welding, a homogeneous, deep, and continuous weld is achieved, even at high thicknesses and in a single pass.
This process offers significant technical advantages:
- Minimal part deformation and reduction of internal stresses.
- Narrow weld beads with high aesthetic quality.
- Deep, clean, and homogeneous welds with high repeatability.
- Possibility of process automation and traceability.
- Reduction of rework and post-processing.
The development is supported by prior structural studies, stress and fatigue analyses, as well as weld macrographs, which verify the homogeneity of the seam, the degree of penetration, and the correct formation of the fusion dart, ensuring strong and durable joints in demanding industrial applications.
